After our family trip to the apple orchard we always end up with more apples than we know what to do with. One of the easiest, most delicious and versatile things to do is to make applesauce! Most recipes use sugar but you can make it easily without it and not even know the difference.

Apples are sweet to begin with! I just supplemented with a little bit of Stevia to add a touch more sweetness without changing the flavor. I also left the peels on the apples for added fiber and just blended the applesauce in the blender to finish and break up with peel.


Homemade NO SUGAR Applesauce


Prep Time: 10 minutes   Cook Time: 15-20 minutes

  • 4 Apples cored and cubed (we used Granny Smith)
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/8 cup of Stevia
  • 1/2 teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon
  • Cinnamon Sticks for garnish (optional)

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Cover and cook on medium heat for 15-20 minutes or until apples are soft. Place apples in food processor or blender and blend until fully combined. Garnish with cinnamon sticks and serve!

My husband has been using the applesauce on top of croissants at breakfast time to make his version of an apple danish! Or just eat it alone for the perfect mid-morning snack!
