Your metabolism is tricky. It tries to use the littlest amount of calories as possible. Your body wants to use it’s fuel efficiently, which is the opposite of what you want. You want your body to roll through its fuel supply and fat stores if you are trying to lose weight. There’s a few tricks to use to keep your metabolism running full speed.

  • Eat something just after you wake up-Get your metabolism going as soon as possible when you wake up in the morning. Eat something, even if it’s just a piece of fruit!
  • Build lean muscle-Strength training will create lean muscle that will continue to burn calories 24 hours after your workout. Add pushups, squats, lunges etc. to your daily routine to see the benefit.
  • Snack throughout the day-Snacking on healthy, nutrient rich foods like nuts and vegetables will keep your sugar levels balanced which will prevent you from binge eating but it will also keep your metabolism running constantly.
  • Drink lots of water- Your body needs water for everything and studies have shown that drinking 17oz of water can boost your metabolism up to 30% for at least 30 minutes after. Drink up, all day long!
